Since the dawn of time pizza has been the ultimate comfort food.
Cheesy and carbolicious, everything we need to make us feel better.
Pizza can come in so many ways; deep dish, thin crust, stuffed crust, wood-fired, oven baked. You can add whatever ingredients you want on top and it’ll still taste so good.
There’s no wonder we love it so much, but did you ever think takeaway pizza could be… HEALTHY?
Dun dun dunnnn.
Put your hands together and pray with me because I’m about to change your life. Dough Delight is our saviour.
A super thin crust (now I’m normally all about that thick doughy chewy crust but Dough Delight has made me second guess everything) topped with only the freshest ingredients. That combined with funny names like Potato Head or Lamborghini is a winner in my books.
Serving up old classics like the Margherita and taking their own unique spin on things and dishing up pizzas like the Carbonara; carbonara sauce, double smoked ham, sautéed mushrooms, green peas, parmesan with fresh garlic and parsley. For those times when you can’t decide between pasta and pizza why not have both.
I’ve been to Dough Delight a few times (a far few) so I know what’s good here (every single pizza). My two ultimate favourite pizzas though are the Malabar; fresh prawns in ‘3C Sauce’ (chilli, coriander and coconut), chorizo, Spanish onion, basil, garlic with fresh lemon and parsley.
This pizza taste like Thailand all in one bite, little bit of spicy, little bit of sweet packed with super fresh ingredients and a generous serving of prawns, you’ll wish you had ordered two.
My second favourite pick is the Gilligan’s Island; Double smoked ham, fresh pineapple, pesto and fresh basil.
It’s a Hawaiian pizza in a tuxedo, the pesto and basil add strong and pungent flavouring to the pizza.
An honourable mention is the Tandoori Chicken pizza; chicken marinated in tandoori spices with fresh capsicum, red onion, cherry tomatoes, chilli and lime aioli, fresh rocket and a lemon wedge.
The chicken pieces are decent sized chunks and not over cooked, coated in a spice mix that adds some heat, the vegetables are fresh, topped with a creamy chilli and lime aioli that adds another kick of heat, creaminess and some zing then topped with fresh rocket that adds a peppery bite.
They also do a baked garlic and cheese bread; baked garlic herb and mozzarella twisted then topped with roasted garlic shaved parmesan and pesto.
Warning it’s very cheesy and very very addictive
Perfectly soft bread stuffed with ooey gooey melted mozzarella and a basil pesto and topped with some sharp cheese. It’s a dairy and gluten intolerants hell and my heaven.
Whatever your pizza jam is, you’ll leave satisfied.
